About the Role As a member of our Retread Production Team, applicants will be involved in the manufacturing of retreaded truck and bus tyres. They will be performing routine machine checks and setups of computerized machinery.
Applicants must be physically fit, as the role involves manual work and long periods of standing. The role requires maintaining high production volumes and quality standards in a commercial setting, efficiently processing tyres in accordance with the New Zealand standard NZS 5423.
Key Responsibilities • Follow the company’s health and safety policies and procedures. • Operate machines to manufacture rubber products such as tyres. • Program machines to specified tolerances and specifications, using knowledge of tyre construction, compounds, and tread patterns for correct application. • Effectively and efficiently process tyres to meet Carters SOP and New Zealand standard NZS 5423 (Specification for repairing and retreading car, truck, and bus tyres), ensuring all retreads meet the requirements of that standard. • Inspect casings for defects that would cause the casing to be rejected for further processing. • Buff casings to remove old rubber and apply a sheet of uncured rubber to bond the new tread to the casing. • Cure tread to casing following time and temperature requirements for the compound and tread pattern, installing bands and seals to meet curing parameters. • Undertake quality control procedures to ensure retreads meet required specifications. • Report any issues or breaches of retreading procedures that could result in re-work, re-dos, or claims. • Accurately complete documentation in relevant systems in a timely manner. • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping throughout the plant.
Job Requirements
• At least 2 years’ experience in tyre retreading or a relevant role within the tyre industry. • High school or college graduate preferred. • Good physical fitness, with the ability to safely lift up to 35kg. • Excellent written and verbal English skills. • A positive attitude, a safety-conscious mindset, and a strong team-player mentality. • Demonstrates honesty, integrity, and reliability at all times.

- Over Monday to Sunday. Working days and hours will be determined by the employer (40 hours per week)
