Trainee Fence Installer

A local business has an opportunity to join their team as a Trainee Fence Installer.

They specialise in installing wooden, steel, aluminium panel, and chain-link fences, mainly for commercial projects, with some residential work as well.

In this role, you will learn how to: • Pick up required materials. • Drive the company vehicle and transport team members to job sites. • Set up site signage and complete site inductions. • Mark out areas for fence posts. • Dig holes to the required depth. • Mix concrete and set fence posts. • Install fencing as required. • Finish the job and clean up the site afterward.

While no experience is required, the following attributes would be an advantage: • Non-smoker • Knowledge of electrical and mechanical tools • Experience or knowledge in civil works and concrete mixing • Site Safe passport • Digger operating experience This role is offered under a 90-Day Trial contract. • Must hold a full Class 1 driver licence to drive teammates in company vehicles (mandatory). • Have your own vehicle to travel to the depot in Papatoetoe — being dropped off or using public transport is not an option. • Be drug-free and able to pass regular random drug testing. • Must be able to pass a Ministry of Justice (MOJ) background check. • Must be fit and healthy enough to complete the tasks described, including the ability to lift up to 25 kg.
