Bistro/Cook Assistant

We are a small friendly club running a bistro from Wed to Sun offering bar snacks, platters, main meals, desserts and catering for functions up to 150 people. The bistro opens from 5.30 to around 8.30 with prep from midday by 1 to 2 staff.

The job includes • Taking orders at the bistro and by phone using eftpos and cash till • Delivering meals to tables or using our paging system • Making desserts and pizzas • Dishes and end of shift cleaning • General bistro tidying and vacuuming before opening • Helping with prep of veges, salads, desserts, meats and other foods • Setting up cutlery, plates and dining areas

The person will need • Clean and tidy presentation • Enjoyment of the food industry • Ability to work as a team and communicate openly • Ability to work on your own when needed • A friendly outgoing personality • Pride in your work • Efficiency, honesty and reliability • Transport to get to work

Hours • Around 15 hours per week between Wed - Sun • Flexibility to work up to 30 hours when required • Hours vary depending on functions and staff leave with rosters set 1 to 2 weeks ahead After settling in we would like someone keen to grow their skills and learn all bistro chef duties including cooking, prep, function catering, ordering and stock control so you can run the bistro when senior cooks are away.
