Cafe Assistant - Kai Maori Experience

The ideal candidate would have Front of House (customer service, cash handling, food handling), Back of House (food preparation) and Barista (Coffee making) experience to join their cafe team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced hospitality environment and takes pride in delivering warm, welcoming service to manuhiri from around the world. You will support day-to-day cafe operations; whilst maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation. This is a hands-on role suited to a team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Provide friendly, efficient, and professional customer service. Prepare and serve coffee and beverages to a consistent standard. Assist with food preparation and basic kitchen duties. Handle POS transactions and cash accurately. Maintain cleanliness of cafe, kitchen, and dining areas. Follow all food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures. Support the team during busy service periods. Previous cafe, hospitality, or barista experience preferred. Confident working both Front of House and Back of House. Barista experience required. Strong communication and customer service skills. Reliable, punctual, and well presented. Ability to work well under pressure in a busy environment. Needs reliable transport. Shifts are across a 7 day roster so weekend and public holiday availability is a must.
