Waltham: One of the busy bars is looking for 2 Bar Staff!
Key Responsibilities: • Prepare, mix, and serve cocktails and beverages in line with the cocktail menu and quality standards. • Serve bottled, canned, and draft beverages, ensuring accuracy, speed, and responsible service. • Engage warmly with guests by taking orders, offering drink recommendations, and delivering a memorable hospitality experience. • Operate POS systems and process payments efficiently and accurately. • Promote featured cocktails, specials, and events to help drive sales and guest engagement. • Maintain a clean, organised, and well-stocked bar, including wiping surfaces, clearing used glassware, and restocking garnishes and supplies. • Wash, polish, and arrange glassware to maintain the premium presentation expected. • Tap kegs, set up and maintain bar supply lines, and monitor stock levels throughout the shift. • Replenish fridges, shelves, and dispensers to ensure all beverages are readily available during service. • Support the delivery of light bar snacks where offered.
In relation to the Driver Licence requirement, we require the applicant to hold a Full New Zealand Driver Licence. This is in line with New Zealand host responsibility requirements, which place an obligation on bars and pubs to promote and support safe transportation options for customers. One of the recognised ways to meet this responsibility is by operating a courtesy van service, which we currently provide to ensure compliance. Therefore, a full NZ driver licence is required as the role may involve driving of our courtesy van to ensure the safe travel of customers, and this requirement is directly related to the job responsibilities and compliance with local regulatory and safety expectations
Job Requirements
• Around one year of work experience in a relevant field or a relevant qualification. • Strong customer service and communication skills, with a friendly and engaging personality. • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, nightlife environment. • Cocktail-making knowledge and willingness to learn signature recipes. • Accuracy in cash handling and POS operation. • Excellent attention to cleanliness and presentation. • A team player with reliability and a strong work ethic.
