We are seeking a reliable and motivated Class 2 Driver / Yard Person to join a Christchurch-based metal recycling business. This is a opportunity with an immediate start, ideal for someone who enjoys a hands-on role with plenty of variety.

This position suits someone who is physically fit, practical, and happy to get their hands dirty. You’ll be combining Class 2 driving with yard work, and working as part of a small, supportive team.

Key Responsibilities • Carrying out general yard duties including sorting, grading, and handling scrap metal • Manual handling and physically demanding work throughout the yard • Assisting with loading and unloading trucks using yard equipment • Operating yard machinery and tools as required (training provided) • Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe yard environment • Driving a Class 2 truck to customer sites to collect metal products when required • Following all health and safety procedures and company policies at all times

Job Requirements

6 months minimum experience in yardsman / driving role Class 2 drivers license / personal transport Ability to pass a ministry of justice check and pre-employment drug test Willingness to work in a physically demanding role and on a rostered Saturday shift

Days of work
Monday to Friday (every 2/3 Saturday) (40 hours per week)
