Horizontal Directional Drill Operator
About this job
A civil company that specialise in horizontal directional drilling and trenchless utility installation, are seeking skilled operators to join our team in Havelock North, Hawke’s Bay.
Operate and maintain Horizontal Directional Drill to install underground utilities (water, sewer, gas, fibre, electricity)
Drill pilot holes, ream, and pull conduit/pipe to specification
Read and interpret plans to maintain accurate line and depth
Monitor and manage drilling fluids, soil conditions, and bore integrity
Work closely with the crew, hydro excavation operators, and project managers
Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards
Job Requirements
Full Class 2/4 driver licence Drug & alcohol free Some experience operating Horizontal Directional Drill Ability to read plans and use locating/positioning equipment Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills Team player with excellent communication on-site Must be able to pass a Ministry of Justice check

- Monday to Friday, 6am to 5/6pm. (45 hours per week)
