Mower Operator

We're currently looking for a Mower Operator to join our high-performing Vegetation team. If you take pride in your work, enjoy working in the fresh air and are looking for a job with variety, this could be your next job.
As a Mower Operator, you'll be key to keeping Dunedin looking its best. You'll be maintaining our public spaces and creating an environment where people are happy to live, work and play.
What you'll be doing: - Operating a commercial mower to mow public lawns, berms and other green spaces. - Operating a weed eater and other edging tools. - Performing basic maintenance on the mower - Other basic vegetation tasks as required.

What we are looking for: - Self-motivation and able to work in a small team environment where everyone takes pride in the quality and service levels they provide to our customers. - The ability to work unsupervised or as part of a team depending on the work. - Ability to deliver on contract specifications to timeframes and to a high standard - Good communication skills - Flexibility to contribute to a variety of tasks - Confident, positive attitude and willingness to learn - Professional presentation as you will be working in public areas - Full NZ Driver's Licence, Class 2 preferred.

Job Requirements
- Class 2 license - Experience or qualifications in horticulture, arboriculture and sports turf would be preferable - Pass a pre-employment/on going drug test - Pass a pre-employment criminal background check - Fit and healthy with no current injuries etc - Reliable transport to work - Good communications skills - Professional presentation - Reliable with a strong work ethic - Able to use a tablet - Able to speak and read English - Experience in reach arm mower operating or side by side and/or spray truck equipment would be advantageous - Growsafe and/or chemical applicator certificate and experience in use of agrichemicals is not essential but would be advantageous - Up to date presentable CV with two contactable references - Self motivated and able to work unsupervised - Willingness to learn and develop new skills
