A Metal Casting Worker / Green Sand Moulder is responsible for producing high-quality metal components in a foundry environment. This role involves preparing green sand moulds and cores, melting and pouring metal alloys, and finishing cast products to specification. The position requires strong hands-on skills, attention to detail, and a high level of safety awareness when working in hot, noisy, and dusty conditions.
Key Responsibilities: -Prepare green sand moulds and cores according to drawings, patterns, and specifications -Operate furnaces to melt metal alloys safely and efficiently -Pour molten metal into moulds using correct techniques and safety procedures -Strip, clean, and finish castings through grinding, polishing, and fettling -Inspect cast products for defects and ensure quality standards are met -Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of tools, moulds, and equipment -Follow all workplace health, safety, and environmental regulations -Work collaboratively with other foundry and production staff to meet output targets
Work Environment: -Hot, noisy, and dusty foundry conditions -Physically demanding role involving standing, lifting, and repetitive tasks
Located in Bromley.
Job Requirements
-Must pass an MOJ check + drug testing -Exp within Metal Casting Trades preferred or similar industry. -Quick thinking and the ability to learn new tasks as required -Both a Forklift licence and Welding cert would be beneficial but not essential. -Strong manual dexterity and physical stamina -Good understanding of workplace safety practices -Ability to read and follow technical instructions or drawings
