Dairy Farm Assistant

We are seeking motivated Dairy Farm Assistants to join our team. The role involves assisting with feed planning, pasture, weed and pest management, fertiliser application, and irrigation. You will support all aspects of the milking process, ensuring plant hygiene and somatic cell count targets are met, and operate and maintain the effluent system in line with regional council and farm compliance requirements.

The position also includes implementing animal health programmes, assisting with calving, wintering and calf rearing, maintaining herd and effluent records, reporting animal health issues, and supporting repairs and maintenance of plant, machinery, and farm infrastructure. You will work closely with the Dairy Farm Manager to contribute to the Farm Business Plan.

This role suits someone reliable, hands-on, and keen to develop their skills in a progressive dairy farming environment.

Physically fit and willing to learn Entry-level role – no prior dairy or pasture-based farming experience required (training provided) Must hold a full or restricted driver licence Must pass a pre-employment drug test and have no criminal record Must live in on-site farm accommodation (no drive-in options) Accommodation may be shared or private depending on availability No pets permitted
