Forklift Driver

We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Forklift Operator to support our apple packing operations. In this role, you will be responsible for operating forklifts to load, unload, and stack apple bins efficiently and accurately within the packing facility and storage areas. You will ensure apple bins are moved carefully to prevent damage to fruit, equipment, and infrastructure while maintaining a steady workflow for the packing team.

Strict adherence to health and safety protocols is essential. You will be expected to conduct routine equipment checks, follow site safety procedures, and maintain a clean and organized work environment at all times. The ideal candidate is reliable, alert, and able to work well as part of a team in a fast-paced setting. This role plays a key part in keeping operations running smoothly while ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and productivity across the apple packing process.

Applicants must have their own reliable transport, be punctual, dependable, and physically fit for manual and forklift-based tasks. A valid OSH forklift licence and current F endorsement are essential. Strong attention to detail and a clear commitment to workplace health and safety are required at all times. Candidates must be confident with basic reading, writing, and numerical tasks to follow procedures and complete records accurately. Flexibility is important, as the role may involve extended hours, varied workdays, and some weekend work. Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultures and backgrounds are essential. Applicants must be willing to work in all weather conditions across multiple sites throughout Hawke’s Bay.
