Civil Construction Supervisor

A reputable civil construction company is seeking an experienced Civil Construction Supervisor to join their team. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing site operations, managing crews, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities: Liaise with the Projects Engineer to confirm daily and weekly work schedules Provide regular job progress updates via photos, phone calls, and emails, and report any issues as they arise Supervise crews across one or multiple sites to ensure work is completed efficiently, on time, and within budget Ensure crews have the required tools, equipment, and resources to maintain productivity Oversee site operations to ensure work is carried out in accordance with project plans and specifications Promote a strong health and safety culture and ensure a safe, healthy work environment at all times Ensure compliance with company health and safety, quality, and environmental procedures Promote correct care and use of tools, equipment, plant, and vehicles Assist with training and mentoring new employees and support competency record updates Provide clear direction to crews to minimise errors and rework Ensure company policies and site rules are adhered to by all personnel Ensure tools and equipment are returned from job sites as required Ensure daily toolbox meetings and Emergency Plans are completed, discussed, and understood prior to work commencing Ensure all site documentation and site folder paperwork is completed as required Ensure all site visitors are inducted in accordance with health and safety requirements Ensure all workers are wearing and maintaining appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) Report any non-compliance or unsafe activities to Management Ensure all incidents, accidents, and near misses are documented and reported Take responsibility for the care and respectful use of company vehicles, plant, tools, and property Attend weekly Monday morning meetings with Management and crews to review performance, discuss upcoming work, and provide feedback Complete accurate daily timesheets detailing job activities

About You: Proven experience in a civil construction supervisory role Strong leadership and communication skills Solid understanding of civil construction processes and health and safety requirements Ability to manage multiple crews and sites effectively Organised, proactive, and solutions-focused

Proven expertise in the Civil construction industry, with a minimum of one year’s supervisory / leadership experience Ability to issue clear directions and instructions to construction workers Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both site crews and Management Excellent time management and organisational skills Capable of leading teams while also being willing to work on the tools when required to meet job demands Full Class 1 driver licence is required; working towards a Class 2 licence is advantageous Current WTR and F endorsements, with practical experience, are advantageous Current First Aid Certificate and other relevant industry qualifications preferred Physically fit and in good health Proactive approach to health and safety, ensuring personal safety and the safety of others on site at all times Ability to pass drug test and MOJ check.
