Heavy Diesel Mechanic (with Hydraulic Experience)

A well-established commercial vehicle repair and refurbishment specialist based in South Auckland, servicing major fleet clients across New Zealand is looking for Heavy Diesel Mechanic (with Hydraulic Experience) to start immediately. About the Role: You will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, and repairing heavy vehicles including trucks, trailers, and commercial fleet vehicles, including hydraulic systems.

Key Responsibilities:

- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults on heavy diesel vehicles - Servicing, inspections, and preventative maintenance - Clutch, gearbox, engine, and driveline repairs - Brake, suspension, steering, and cooling system work - Diagnose, repair, and maintain hydraulic systems (hoses, pumps, rams, valves, etc.) - Ensure all work meets safety and compliance standards - Complete job cards and reports accurately - Work closely with panel, paint, and fabrication teams

- Qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic or strong relevant experience - Hydraulic system experience is essential - Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in heavy vehicle repairs - Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills - Ability to work independently and in a team - Reliable, motivated, and detail-focused - Must have Full Class 1 and Class 2 driver licence with reliable transport to get to and from work - NZ Driver License (Class 4+ preferred) - Must be able to pass drug test, MOJ check and CSO (Child Sex Offender Risk) check - Flexible with working hours and able to work on Saturday when required.
