Automotive Electrician

A leading commercial vehicle repair and refurbishment specialist based in South Auckland, servicing major fleet clients across New Zealand is looking for a Automotive Electrician to start immediately.

About the Role: You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, installing, and maintaining electrical systems on heavy vehicles, commercial fleets, and light vehicles.

Key Responsibilities: - Diagnose and repair auto electrical faults - Wiring repairs, rewiring, and loom repairs - Starter motors, alternators, and battery systems - Lighting, indicators, and accessory installations - CAN (Controller Area Network) bus diagnostics and fault finding - Installation of cameras, GPS, beacons, and safety systems - Electrical compliance and safety checks - Maintain accurate job records - Work closely with mechanical, panel, and fabrication teams

- Qualified Automotive Electrician or strong relevant experience - 2–3 years’ experience in auto electrical work preferred - Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills - Experience with heavy vehicles and fleet work preferred - Ability to work independently and in a team - Reliable, motivated, and detail-focused - Must have NZ Full Class 1 driver licence with reliable transport to get to and from work (Class 2+ preferred but not essential) - Must be able to pass drug test, MOJ check and CSO (Child Sex Offender Risk) check - Flexible with working hours and able to work on Saturday when required.
