We’re looking for a new member to our close knit and friendly team. Based in East Taieri, just outside Mosgiel, we’re looking for an experienced Plant Maintenance/ Site Handyman to join us in 2026.

Our small and dedicated staff offer the complete package of skills and knowledge that allows us to present quality products to our customers around the world. Our sawmill was founded in the 1970’s and we offer the full service of raw log production through to a finish product, containerised and delivered at ship. Our production capacity is currently 34,000 tonnes of log input, generating 19,000 cubic metres of sawn timber output per annum. Cutting Pinus Radiata structural/pruned logs allows our business to supply a diverse range of timber products.
Job Purpose: To provide service and repair maintenance to all mobile machinery on site, must have a good understanding and background on diesel motors.
Key Responsibilities - Mobile Plant Maintenance: - Regular servicing of all mobile plants (Forklifts, Trucks, Loaders). - Mobile Plant Repairs and overhauls. - Source parts as required.
Key Responsibilities - Site Maintenance: - Sundry repairs as necessary (Bearing/Belt changes, Minor welding repairs). - Routine plant greasing, oil checks in plant drives. - Liaising with Engineers and Electricians when needed. - Maintaining safety fencing/ guarding - Assist with documenting preventative maintenance. - Yard Maintenance.
Full Job description will be discussed at interview. ASAP commencement. Will have your own workshop for any maintenance and repairs as required. Part time/ Full time hours can be discussed at interview.
Job Requirements
- Forklift licence (F+OSH) - Fit with no current injuries, able to undertake physical work - Reliable with a strong work ethic - Health and Safety focused - Able to pass a pre-employment drug test - Up to date presentable CV with two contactable references - Reliable transport to work - Transferable experience
