Taxi Driver

The role requires providing transportation services for passengers with disabilities or special needs. Drive people from one place to another in a taxi van. • Ask for directions or determine directions on GPS. • Use knowledge of local streets and traffic patterns to avoid heavy traffic. • Pay tolls. • Vacuum and clean interior of van. • Turn on and off meter. • Pick up and throw away debris from passengers. • Take payments. • Wax and wash exterior of van. • Service van and determine if repairs are needed. • Get oil changed and fluids checked regularly. • Operate wheelchair lifts. • Make change and issue receipts. • Determine fares based on distance, number of passengers, or times. • Answer requests to receive vehicle assignments. • Perform errands for customers. • Carry packages and luggage. • Help passengers get in and out of van. • Make minor repairs and adjustments.

P Endorsement and Class 1 drivers license required, Transport passengers with impairments or disabilities certificate is required, Transport passengers in wheelchairs using Total Mobility vehicles equipped with hoist or ramp Certificate is also required, No experience and no qualification is required for this role, Drug test is required, Background criminal check is also required. Rostered shifts - 32 hours over Monday to Sunday involving early mornings and late nights. Main hours will be 6am - 9am and 3pm - 6.30pm
