Full-time opportunities are currently available with a well-established kiwifruit grower in the Opotiki region. This grower is well regarded in the industry and offers all-year round employment commencing with the harvest in March. Pay will be on piece rate basis once up to speed. Duties throughout the year include: Picking, removing of poles and winter pruning which takes you through until the end of June From July through until the end of September, the winter pruning will finalise then move on to planting and stringing. From October through until February, our teams are working through Summer and male pruning, thinning, girdling, stringing, and flower picking to get back and ready for next year's harvest. Although experience is preferable, we are happy to train the right people to boost our team. Candidates must be able to commit to being available over 7 days in order to accommodate weather restrictions which impact on our ability to work. A minimum of 30 hours/week is guaranteed on these fixed-term positions. Hours of work will fall between 7.30am and 5pm. Own transport is required to get you to and from the orchards. Drug testing may be required subject to our contract conditions.
