Dog Walker

This is a well established employer who has an excellent reputation as a professional dog walking and care business. Majority of the walks are one-on-one walks where a handler collects a clients dog from their home and takes them on a local-neighbourhood on leash walk. All of the dogs they handle are thoroughly vetted and assessed by a senior handler before they accept them for regular services.

You would be responsible for collecting and walking dogs in our local Auckland central suburbs. This is a part-time position (20 hours minimum) with regular weekly scheduled hours. A strong understanding of canine behaviour or good experience around dogs is required for this position. You need to be confident handling / walking dogs of descriptions on and off lead (we do not take on clients with aggression or extreme behaviour issues).

This is a fantastic regular work opportunity for a dog lover that enjoys keeping fit and working autonomously.

Once a handler is competent they may be required to take two and up to (but no more than) three dogs out at any one time.

• You will have experience as a canine handler or be confident in your ability to handle dogs & be able to display competent handling skills.

• Have an NZ Licence and own a reliable vehicle / transport

• For insurance purposes, you must be over 25 years of age (this is an insurance requirement, but we could be flexible for the right person)

• Have or be able to obtain a Police Clearance Certificate

• Own a mobile phone with the ability to transfer a large amount of data(calls/TXT/MMS) and take quality images

• Be passionate about optimal pet and animal care • Be trustworthy, reliable, punctual and an effective communicator

• Have the ability to work independently without supervision

• Be able to be available for a minimum of 20 hours with the scope for additional hours

• This company will provide full induction & on the job training.

Our regular walking hours are 7:00am to 3:00 pm Monday to Friday with scope for additional hours. Minimum wage + other benefits apply.
