We are looking for permanent full-time Leave Cover Support Workers to join our Residential Intensive Support Services team in New Plymouth, supporting rangatahi and tamariki through coaching, mentoring, and hands-on care.
What does a Support Worker do? He aha te mahi a te Kaimahi Tautoko Support Workers assist rangatahi and tamariki to live as independently as possible while achieving positive outcomes in their lives. Key responsibilities: • Work collaboratively with the team to ensure a consistent, supportive approach • Support rangatahi and tamariki to engage in school or other educational opportunities • Observe, respond to, and report on health and wellbeing concerns • Encourage and support young people to work towards and achieve their goals • Provide a safe, structured, and nurturing environment during shifts
What we are looking for: • A desire to support rangatahi / young people to learn new skills and achieve outcomes • Previous experience working with young people / rangatahi • Understanding of Intellectual Disability and Autism • Creativity, “out-of-the-box” thinking, and ability to work well in a team • A full New Zealand driver’s license • Right to work in New Zealand and willingness to undergo Police Vetting and Vulnerable Children Safety Checks Personal qualities: • Empathy, respect, and cultural awareness, recognizing that the people we support come from diverse backgrounds with varying needs and interests

Job Requirements
