We are looking for permanent full-time Night Shift Support Workers to support young people in our Residential Intensive Support Services in New Plymouth.

What does a Support Worker do? He aha te mahi a te Kaimahi Tautoko Support Workers work alongside, coach, and mentor rangatahi and tamariki to help them live as independently as possible and achieve positive outcomes.

You will: - Work as part of a team to ensure a consistent approach - Support engagement in education and daily routines - Observe and respond to health and wellbeing needs - Support young people to work towards and achieve their goals - Provide a safe and structured environment during night shifts

Job Requirements

- A desire to support rangatahi / young people to learn new skills and achieve positive outcomes

- Previous experience working with young people / rangatahi

- Understanding of Intellectual Disability and Autism

- Creativity, “out-of-the-box” thinking, and ability to work well in a team

- A full New Zealand driver’s license

- Pass pre-employment drug and Ministry of Justice check

- Right to work in New Zealand and willingness to undergo Police Vetting and Vulnerable Children Safety Checks

- Empathy, respect, and cultural awareness, recognizing that the people we support come from diverse backgrounds with varying needs and interests
