Activities Coordinator

A private Rest Home and Hospital in Belmont is seeking an Activities Coordinator to lead fun and engaging experiences for its residents. As the Activities Coordinator, you’ll be the spark behind the Rest Home’s social and recreational calendar. You will design and deliver a variety of activities that nurture wellbeing, encourage friendships, and bring fun and laughter to daily life. Key Responsibilities - Develop and run activities that support physical, mental, and emotional health—think art, music, gentle exercise, outings, and special events. - Inspire participation and tailor activities to suit individual preferences and abilities. - Create an inclusive, positive environment where residents feel valued and connected.
Job Requirements
- At least 6–12 months of hands-on experience in aged care, health, disability support, or activity and recreation roles. - Excellent communication skills—both spoken and written—with a friendly, dependable, and collaborative approach. - A full New Zealand driver’s licence. - Current First Aid certificate (or willingness to obtain one). - A qualification in Diversional Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Health & Wellbeing (Level 4 or higher) is a bonus.
