Rest Home Caregiver

A centrally located rest home in New Plymouth is looking for compassionate caregivers who have an interest or some experience in the healthcare industry. This is a hands-on role and is very rewarding.
Your duties will include: • Accompany and support patients with daily activities, including those with dementia who require specific support • Assist patients with their mobility • Prepare and deliver food and/or assist with feeding • Support wellbeing and assisting with personal care of patients
You will be working in a small, homely environment where you can make a difference for those you care for. The right person will be caring and empathetic in nature and have a hardworking can-do attitude. A positive and friendly personality is essential! You will be casual to begin with however lots of hours can be available to cover staff leave. Shifts are on a rotating roster covering 24 hours per day - AM, PM, Night shifts. The pay rate is variable depending on experience and qualifications.
To apply you will need to have: • an interest in healthcare, specifically aged care • Ideally NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 2 • Able to pass a police check • Have reliable transport to get to work
