Location: Te Kowhai

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead all kitchen operations for our establishment based in Te Kowhai. The Head Chef will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of the kitchen, leading and developing the culinary team, and ensuring consistently high standards of food quality, presentation, and safety.

This role is the ultimate authority in the kitchen, overseeing everything from menu planning and inventory control to final plating and service delivery. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving culinary excellence, operational efficiency, and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

-Manage all kitchen operations and ensure smooth, efficient service

-Lead, train, and motivate kitchen staff to maintain high performance standards

-Design and develop menus, recipes, and specials

-Control food costs, budgeting, ordering, and inventory management

-Maintain strict food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards

-Ensure consistency in food quality, taste, and presentation

-Collaborate with management to meet business and customer expectations

-Experience with buffet service, a la carte menus, and cabinet items
