A large fishing company are now recruiting for General Hands for their land-based factory based in Nelson for Hoki season 2026. The season runs from mid-May until the end of September 2026.

Tasks / responsibilities include: • Manufacture product to specification • Undertake production line cleaning tasks of equipment and work areas as required • Packing fish into required portions • Trimming fish fillets

There are no minimum qualification or work experience requirement and full training will be provided.

A satisfactory pre-employment drug test and a physical medical assessment will be required to be considered for this role. Applicants must have legal entitlement to live and work in New Zealand. An online application is required for this position.

Job Requirements

To be considered you will:

• Be 100% committed to Health and Safety • Be able to work with continuous processing • Have good time management skills • Have good hand to eye coordination • Be able to do heavy lifting of 5-10kg • Have good knife skills (beneficial not essential) • Minor convictions may be considered on a case by case basis Please note, applicants will need to complete an online application.

Day Shift -6am to 2.30pm Afternoon Shift-2pm – 10pm Night Shift-10pm – 6am Mon -Fri, some sat work if wanted (40 hours per week)
Pay Details
$23.96 and $26.18 per hour.
