Landfill Team Member

Are you passionate about sustainability, community, and making a real difference in people's lives? we are looking for a compassionate and reliable team member to join our Recycling Division in a vital frontline role.

You’ll be the friendly and professional face of our organisation, engaging with the public and supporting our environmental mission. This position operates in two important areas – The main one being the ‘Concierge’ role at the Silverstream Landfill.

Landfill - Work directly with the public, in a rostered role, which includes weekends, to provide guidance on what we can take for recycling – or where to deposit in the correct space at the landfill.

This role is a blend of hands-on activity and community interaction. You’ll identify recyclable goods at the landfill and coordinate their safe and efficient transport back to our base in Lower Hutt. At the same time, you’ll help educate the public and work collaboratively with other on-site partners to ensure a smooth, respectful, and sustainable process.

Physically fit for lifting. Great customer service skills. Commitment to always working in a team environment. Self-motivated and able to work alone for periods of time when required Able to communicate well within the team and with the public This role encompasses weekend work. Must pass drug test Must be able to drive a manual vehicle( small truck) and hold a full Class 1 license.
