Optical Assistant (Full training provided)

A well known local optometrists and eyewear retailer in Taupo CBD is seeking a motivated individual who is sales oriented with a high level of customer service and/or retail experience to join their fast growing team. The role involves everything from meeting and greeting customers, checking their details on the computer system, performing eye photographs and advanced "OCT" scans of their eyes, eye pressure checks and other "Pre-tests" before the customer sees the optometrist, then selecting frames and lenses for the customer, fitting these when they arrive back from the lab and so much more. A successful applicant would have to be comfortable with some physical contact with the patient. (Eg holding up their eyelids for pre-test or touching noses and ears while fitting spectacles.) Full training is provided on the job along with career development and advancement opportunities. Perks include 2 pairs of glasses free per year, discounts and birthday leave.
