Support Worker - Nelson

We are looking for energetic and motivated Support Workers to help the people we support in Nelson residential services.

What does a Support Worker do? - He aha te mahi a te Kaimahi Tautoko? This is a busy and diverse role, supporting people with various aspects of daily life and to do the things they want to do such as going swimming, personal cares, support with meals, household management tasks and teaching life skills - the list is endless. Support Workers are part of a team who work shifts or specific rosters providing 24/7 support, with the potential of additional sleepover payments included in some rosters.

People who are passionate about helping others, kind and understanding. Availability of 30 hours a week, rostered Monday to Sunday. Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred, including experience with disabilities and challenging behaviours. Must have a minimum qualification of Health and Wellbeing Level 4 or equivalent. A full NZ driver’s licence is essential. Somebody who has the initiative to push people to their goals, is energetic, outgoing, and can think outside the box. Flexibility to work overnight shifts across a roster, including weekends. Be respectful of others thinking. Must pass MOJ and pre-employment drug screening.
