Head Chef & Cafe Chefs

A new cafe is expanding with a location opening soon in the new Wellington Library! We are seeking a Head Chef and additional chefs to join our growing team.

These roles involve preparing and delivering high-quality cafe food in a fast-paced, service-driven environment. The Head Chef will take responsibility for leading the team, supporting menu development, maintaining food standards, and mentoring other chefs. The additional chefs will support daily preparation and service, working closely with the Head Chef to ensure consistency, efficiency, and excellent food presentation.

Positions available:

1x Full-time Head Chef (approximately 36–45 hours)

1x Full-time Chef (approximately 36–45 hours)

1x Part-time Chef (approximately 21 hours)

Head Chef

Proven leadership experience in a chef or head chef role Strong menu development, costing, and food quality control skills Ability to lead, train, and inspire a team Excellent food safety and organisational skills Confident and able to hit the ground running Must be able to pass MOJ and drug checks

Cafe Chefs

Previous cafe or restaurant kitchen experience Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Strong preparation, service, and food safety skills Team-focused with a positive attitude Must be able to pass MOJ and drug checks
