Retails Sales Person

Position Overview The role involves retail sales and customer service within an outdoor power equipment environment. The position supports day-to-day showroom operations, sales processing, stock management, and coordination with the service workshop. A strong focus on customer experience, product knowledge, and operational accuracy is required.
Key Responsibilities • Greets customers in a friendly and professional manner and assists with their enquiries and purchasing needs • Answers telephone calls politely and provides accurate information or assistance • Moves ride-on mowers and equipment in and out of the showroom daily • Assembles stock as directed by management • Ensures shelves and display areas are fully stocked and well presented • Maintains showroom cleanliness, including vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and emptying rubbish bins as required • Keeps the front counter tidy and free from clutter • Enters and updates customer details accurately in the computer system • Books service and workshop jobs into the system • Ensures new customers are processed as cash sales unless approved credit documentation is completed • Completes sales transactions through the computer system • Carries out any fair and reasonable work-related requests from management or team members • Ensures front doors are securely locked at the end of each business day • Maintains regular communication with the workshop to keep customers informed of repair lead times • Stays up to date with current promotions and ensures price cards are accurate and displayed • Follows up on sales leads and customer enquiries • Attends work-related training courses as required • Completes daily timesheets accurately • Prepares equipment quotes, including insurance quotes and sales • Conducts on-site product demonstrations and prepares related quotations • Places orders for whole goods up to an approved value, with higher-value orders requiring management approval • Ensures delivered stock is checked and stored appropriately • Assists with stocktaking and audit processes • Completes daily cash-up procedures accurately • Provides product training and support to other staff members • Reviews and processes “on hold” invoices at the end of each month • Follows up sales orders to ensure invoices are completed and correctly entered into the system
Job Requirements
• Demonstrated understanding of outdoor power equipment • Passion for STIHL products • Previous experience in retail sales • High level of honesty and reliability, with experience handling cash transactions • Strong customer service and communication skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
