Commi Chef- or Similar

A local Tauranga employer is seeking a talented Commis Chef to join their dynamic kitchen team in the Restaurant located in the vibrant city of Tauranga in the Bay of Plenty. As a Commis Chef, you will be an integral part of the kitchen operations, contributing to the creation of exceptional dining experiences for our customers. What you'll be doing 1. Assisting the Head Chef and Sous Chef in the preparation, cooking and presentation of a wide range of dishes 2. Ensuring the kitchen operates efficiently and maintains the highest standards of food quality, hygiene and safety 3. Collaborating with the kitchen team to develop new menu items and improve existing recipes 4. Adhering to portion control, cost control and waste management practices 5. Maintaining a clean and organised work area throughout your shift 6. Participating in regular team meetings and training sessions to continuously improve your skills

At least 1 year of experience as a Commis Chef or in a similar role within a reputable restaurant or hotel kitchen

A passion for food and a keen eye for detail in the preparation and presentation of dishes

Strong time management and multitasking abilities to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with the kitchen and front-of-house teams

A proven commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene

The ability to follow recipes and instructions precisely while also demonstrating some creativity in the kitchen
