A Wellington business is looking for a Tour Guide to join their team with a culture of inclusion and promoting excellence in Tourism!
Working outside providing guided tours to visitors to the area. Beautiful place to work (Waterfront), great team culture.
You will provide Cultural education and engagement by sharing matauranga Maori with Visitors and Schools.
Deliver waka and walking tours to customers, ELC experiences and help develop business opportunities and packages.
This job has full training provided, including learning modules.
This role will suit someone with good life experiences, and a passion for further learning and Maori history.
Job Requirements
• You are representing Local Iwi and the region, so will need to leave a positive, lasting impression! • Maturity, with life experience and a willingness to educate others • Energy, Confidence, Charisma, physically capable and a strong desire to learn and teach others about the Maori history of the region. • Reo Maori speaker and kaupapa Maori knowledge preferred. • Ability to speak in front of crowds. • Some digital report writing required. • Take safety of self and others seriously (working on and near the Ocean). • Able to pass a pre-employment MOJ check and drug test • P endorsement license desirable.
- Days of work
- Monday-Friday, Weekends as rostered. Various start and finish times between 8am and 5pm (30 hours per week)
