Loss Prevention / Security Officer - Multiple roles

Busy and growing security company is seeking reliable and professional Security Guards to join our team across supermarket and retail locations in Warkworth and Silverdale. Purpose of Role: To support retail businesses by minimizing merchandise loss caused by internal or external theft and fraud, while ensuring a safe, secure, and professional store environment for staff and customers.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Theft Prevention & Surveillance • Enforce store security policies and uphold site-specific rules and regulations • Conduct both overt and covert monitoring, including CCTV surveillance • Operate CCTV systems to conduct reviews and export footage for investigations • Blend in as a shopper during covert observation when required • Investigate and document causes of checkpoint alarm activations • Safely apprehend suspected shoplifters, following legal protocols • Implement and maintain theft-prevention strategies tailored to each location

Internal Checks & Risk Mitigation • Perform scheduled and random checks on staff, suppliers, cleaners, and merchandisers • Carry out bag checks, verify staff ID stickers, and ensure entry/exit compliance • Maintain vigilance and report any unusual behaviour or patterns

Incident Management & Reporting • Draft accurate incident reports and update stakeholders in a timely manner • Escalate concerns immediately to RTC Security Director • Contact police when necessary and obtain official Job Numbers • Respond appropriately in emergencies (e.g., fire alarms), ensuring no unauthorized re-entry • Support civil recovery efforts and attend court hearings if required

Professional Conduct & Communication • Remain calm under pressure, especially during conflict or confrontation • Always maintain professional appearance and demeanour • Communicate clearly, respectfully, and effectively with colleagues, clients, and the public • Deliver exceptional customer service while upholding store security standards

Requirements & Qualifications Must have own mobile phone and always be contactable Must be able to pass pre-employment police and drug checks. Current COA licence is required - Training provided for the right candidate Previous security or loss prevention experience is preferred but not essential Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to read, write, and speak clearly in English Remain calm and professional when faced with difficult or aggressive individuals Excellent conflict resolution abilities and quick decision-making skills Own Transport and minimum Restricted license
