Fast Food Cook

We are seeking motivated and reliable Fast Food Cooks to join our kitchen team in Tuakau, Waikato. This is a full-time role suited to entry-level cooks, trainees, or apprentices who are passionate about food preparation and maintaining high kitchen standards.

You will work in a fast-paced environment preparing a variety of dishes while ensuring food quality, safety, and hygiene standards are consistently met.

Your daily tasks will include, but are not limited to:

- Preparing and cooking Indian and Chinese dishes, burgers, pasta, and other promotional menu items - Examining dishes before service to ensure correct quantity, quality, presentation, and temperature - Correct portioning of food, including adding sauces and gravies - Seasoning and garnishing dishes appropriately - Operating and controlling cooking equipment such as grills, ovens, microwaves, and fryers - Monitoring and maintaining correct food storage temperatures - Assisting with inventory ordering and maintaining adequate stock levels - Suggesting new dishes and assisting with menu planning - Maintaining a clean, hygienic, and tidy kitchen environment at all times - Ensuring full compliance with health, safety, and food hygiene regulations

- Physically fit to stay on feet with willingness to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment - Must have work experience in cooking Indian and Chinese dishes - Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and food safety procedures - Strong attention to detail and consistency in food preparation - Good time management and teamwork skills - Commitment to cleanliness, hygiene, and workplace safety - Must be able to pass drug test, MOJ check and Child Sex Offender Risk Check - Have a reliable transport to get to and from work - A Level 4 or higher qualification in a relevant field may substitute for work experience and Tertiary qualification are an advantage.
