A popular fast-food restaurant in Wairau Valley is looking for a Shift Manager to join their team. In this role, you will support the Store Manager by running daily shifts efficiently and ensuring smooth store operations in a fast-paced environment. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for supervising staff, allocating duties, and maintaining high standards of food quality, customer service, and operational performance. The Shift Manager monitors ingredient and stock levels, places accurate orders, ensures correct stock rotation, checks deliveries for accuracy, and follows up on shortages or credits. They ensure compliance with food safety, health and safety, hygiene, and brand standards, and assist with internal audit requirements. The role includes delivering excellent customer service by responding to enquiries and resolving complaints, training and coaching staff, managing opening and closing procedures, handling cash reconciliations, reporting equipment issues, promoting in-store offers, and actively supporting the team through food preparation and customer service.
Job Requirements
The role requires a minimum of six months’ work experience in a retail or hospitality environment. Prior food-handling experience is considered an advantage. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, public holidays, and on an on-call basis when required. The successful candidate must have good communication skills, basic computer literacy, Able to pass drug and alcohol testing Have a clear Ministry of Justice check A full New Zealand driver's licence is required,
