Quality Controller - Fresh Produce

Job Purpose: The Quality Controller in Fresh Produce is responsible for ensuring that all fresh produce meets required quality, safety, and customer specifications. This role involves conducting quality inspections, maintaining accurate records, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and promoting a safe and compliant working environment.
Key Responsibilities: -Conduct regular quality control checks on fresh produce, identifying defects or quality issues and addressing them promptly. -Collect, record, and analyse quality control data, including reconciling recovery rates of produce. -Maintain and update daily quality reports accurately and within required timeframes. -Conduct quality trials, ensuring findings are accurately recorded and reported. -Maintain and update quality specifications for all produce to ensure compliance with customer requirements. -Train and support graders on produce quality standards and specifications. -Ensure adherence to all food safety, quality, and company procedures at all times. -Comply with health and safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment. -Report all accidents, incidents, near misses, and hazards immediately in line with company procedures. -Actively lead, promote, and monitor health and safety initiatives to continuously improve workplace safety. -Carry out any additional duties and responsibilities as reasonably required to support efficient company operations.
Job Requirements
- Must pass pre employment drug testing - Must have at least 2 years Quality Control experience within a similar industry, preferably working with fresh produce. - Excellent computer skills, especially in Excel. Strong attention to detail and ability to perform quality control checks effectively. - Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects as required. - Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team. - Ability to go the extra mile and get the job done. - Flexible - due to the nature of the industry you must be available to work extended hours and weekends when required.

- Monday-Friday 8-10 hours a day plus some weekend work when needed. (40 hours per week)
