Construction Technician

An Auckland Central based employer is seeking experienced Construction Technicians to join their team. In this role you will support site supervisors and qualified tradespeople on active construction sites.

The role involves assisting with building activities, preparing materials and work areas, and helping ensure work is completed safely and efficiently. This is a practical, hands-on role carried out under direction on site.

Key Responsibilities include:

* Assist carpenters and other trades with daily construction tasks * Prepare materials, tools, and equipment as required * Hold, move, and position materials during installation works * Support framing, fix-out, and general construction activities * Carry out basic construction tasks under supervision * Load, unload, and move building materials and equipment * Keep work areas clean, tidy, and safe * Assist with site set-up and pack-down * Follow work plans and instructions from supervisors Health and Safety * Follow site health and safety requirements at all times * Correctly use PPE provided * Take part in toolbox talks and site inductions * Identify and report hazards or unsafe conditions

* Must have min 2 years experience on construction sites (residential or commercial) * Must be able to undergo and pass a Ministry of Justice Check * Must be able to undergo and pass a pre-employment drug test * Must hold valid NZ Full Drivers license and own reliable vehicle to get to work * Must be able to work required days and additional hours as required * Must hold a Site Safe and/or Construct Safe Certificate * Experience assisting carpenters or builders * Physically fit to handle manual labour work. * Ability to safely use basic hand tools &power tools * Understanding of construction site safety practices * Ability to follow instructions & work as part of a team
