Christchurch: We are looking for Full-Time Community Support Worker - Night Shift (Permanent Reliever) specifically those who are available to work nights and who want to encourage and empower people with a learning disability to live a meaningful life.

Community Support Workers are integral to the success of our service, covering planned or unanticipated leave across all of our services. This requires flexibility and a willingness to work over a variety of shifts and rosters including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.

If you are keen to make a difference in the lives of people with disabilities, we would like to hear from you! You will need to have had experience in the disability sector and have a desire to work with people to support them to achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities: - Actively promoting self-advocacy, self-confidence, independence, participation and choice - Assisting people to achieve opportunities and involvement in a valuing lifestyle of their choice shared by family, friends and the community - Supporting people with their daily personal needs

Job Requirements

-You must have a full, clean and current New Zealand driver’s licence and own car for work locations -Must be flexible to work 24/7 on a rotating roster especially available to work nights. -Experience or knowledge of working with adults and, or children with intellectual disability and/or autism would be advantageous. -It would be advantageous if you have a Level 3/ 4 New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing, or a recognised equivalent qualification, or be willing to complete study towards this qualification. -Commitment to engage and complete the organisational training requirements. -Basic computer skills for notes and reports. -Awareness of the Treaty of Waitangi/Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its relevance to the support of Maori in Aotearoa/New Zealand. -Eligibility to work in New Zealand. -Have to be Fully Vaccinated AND BOOSTED against Covid-19. -Criminal conviction will be considered case by case basis.

Must be flexible to work 24/7 on rotating roster. 75 hours per fortnight. (30 hours per week)
