Hunting / Fishing Retail Salesperson (January 2026 start)

Love the great outdoors and have a passion for hunting, fishing, or both? Do you love sharing your knowledge and helping people? If you don’t have retail sales experience, are you happy to learn about it? A large, local outdoor store is looking for their next sales team member to start with them in January, and they are happy to train the right person. What they are looking for: • A passion for getting outdoors to go hunting or fishing (both is a bonus) • Willing to learn about different outdoor suppliers and their products • Willing to learn retails sales skills (or develop your existing retails skills) • Good communication skills - able to talk to and advise customer on the products best for them • Reliability and strong work ethic – happy to support your colleagues as needed • Holder of a gun licence is not essential but is a definite bonus. This position is ideal for someone who loves hunting and/or fishing, is confident talking to customers and helping them, and who is happy to learn new skills in retail and sales. Training is provided. Rostered workdays including weekends and public holidays. Weekdays 8am-5.30pm, Saturdays 8am-4pm, Sundays 9am-4pm . Work week is 40-45 per week (avg 42 hours per week). Pay is $24-28 per hour depending on knowledge and experience.

Applicants must meet the following criteria • Be passionate and knowledgeable about either hunting or fishing (or both) ie you have been regularly hunting and/or fishing for years and have extensive knowledge to share with customers and staff Or • You’re great at retail sales and have some hunting / fishing experience Plus • Confident, well presented and have good communication skills and a willingness to learn about products and retail sales • Have a good work ethic and understand the importance of being a reliable team worker • Have good time management skills • Friendly and willing to assist in other areas of the business as needed • Able to work rostered weekdays and weekends including public holidays Must be able to pass an MOJ check
