Dairy Cattle Farm Worker

This farm is located on the outskirts of Cambridge close to Karapiro. This is a unique full-time role where you will have the opportunity to work across two small dairy farms. You will find yourself responsible for a variety of day-to-day farm operations that contribute to the smooth running of the business. You’ll work alongside the owners at times, but most of the role will require initiative and independence. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Milking and ensuring high standards of hygiene, animal health and welfare Feeding out and maintaining feed systems Setting up breaks and assisting with pasture management General farm maintenance and other daily operational tasks Eradication and control of weeds The herd size is 160 cows milked in a 16 aside herringbone shed and 180 cows milked in a 26 aside herringbone shed

Must be able to pass a drug test Must be able to pass a Police check. No criminal convictions Minimum of a restricted drivers licence and own transport Ideal dairy farming experience 1-2years Strong observation skills and a proven understanding of animal behaviour Ability to work with farm machinery in a safe manner Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards Good people skills and the ability to work well in a team environment Flexibility and reliability to adapt to varying farm demands Must live on the farm. No pets Accommodation available Tiny house for a single applicant and or a 3 bedroom house available for a farming family
