A local Motueka orchard requires orchard QC staff over the harvest season Feb to May 2026. This role involves inspecting harvested apples in the field to ensure they meet variety standards, recording data, and communicating findings to pickers and supervisors. No prior experience is required as full training will be provided. Applicants must be physically fit (as the role requires standing for most of the day), have strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and the ability to work well with others while being confident and assertive when needed.
***Candidates may be eligible for petrol assistance from MSD for the term of the contract. Ask MSD for details***
Job Requirements
Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous experience in fruit handling or packhouse operations preferred. - Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects quickly. - Good communication and teamwork skills. - Ability to work in a fast-paced, seasonal environment. - Physical fitness for standing and moving throughout shifts.
Must pass pre-employment drug test and be physically fit. Minor criminal convictions will be looked at on a case by case basis. **Application form must be completed**
