Farm assistant required in rural Whangarei to start late Jan 2026.
Offering a friendly and supportive environment with maize and summer crops growing on the farm. The 276 hectare milking platform is 90% flat contour with a 40 aside herringbone cowshed and an automatic drafting gate. Operating 180 autumn calves with the remainder spring carving. All cows have collars for heat detection and health alerts.
Key responsibilities are to support all operational processes, including farm property and equipment maintenance, animal husbandry and all aspects of stock management.
Tasks include: • Milking cows, including getting the cows in, washing down & cleaning vat, etc • General farm work & maintenance • Assisting with feeding calves during the calving season • Break fencing & feeding out • Spraying
Job Requirements
- Enjoys working with animals and is confident with milking cows. - A team player, who is keen to learn and displays a good attitude. - Must have a class 1 full licence. - Must be able to pass a drug test. - Must be able to pass a ministry of justice check. - Training provided to the right candidate.

- Rotating roster 1st Week - 6 days on & 1 day off 2nd Week - 5 days on & 2 days off (40 hours per week)
