A Shift Leader ensures smooth daily operation of the restaurant by supervising staff, delegating tasks, and maintaining service standards. They run pre-shift briefings, communicate menu updates, and support team members throughout service. Daily duties include greeting guests, resolving customer issues, performing FOH service tasks, coordinating with the kitchen, managing staff breaks, and ensuring cleanliness, hygiene, and safety procedures are followed. They oversee opening and closing checklists, maintain a welcoming atmosphere, monitor productivity, uphold brand standards, and ensure a positive guest experience every shift.

Job Requirements

• Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant operations, ideally in a supervisory or senior FOH role. • Strong understanding of customer service, food and beverage operations, and restaurant workflows. • Ability to lead, motivate, and support a team in a fast-paced environment. • LCQ (Licence Controller Qualification) and a valid Manager’s Certificate, or willingness to obtain them. • Good knowledge of health and safety practices in hospitality. • Strong communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills. • Ability to handle pressure, multitask, and make sound decisions during busy periods. • High standard of personal presentation and professionalism. • Reliable, punctual, and capable of working nights, weekends, and public holidays as required. • Basic computer literacy and familiarity with point-of-sale systems. • Must demonstrate integrity, responsibility, and the ability to follow and enforce procedures.
