About this job
Qualified electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, testing, and repairing electrical systems in accordance with New Zealand regulations and safety standards. The role involves carrying out electrical work across residential, commercial, and/or industrial sites, ensuring all installations are compliant with the Electricity Act, AS/NZS 3000, and relevant codes of practice. Electricians diagnose faults, perform routine servicing, complete compliance documentation, and communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and site managers.
• Full Class 1 License • NZ Certificate in Electrical Trade Level 4 • MEWP would be good, but not crucial • Heights and Harness would be good, but not crucial
Job Requirements
• 2+ years qualified would be ideal. Key duties may include: • Installing and commissioning electrical wiring, switchboards, distribution systems, and appliances. • Conducting fault-finding, maintenance, and repairs on existing electrical installations. • Testing and certifying electrical work, completing CoCs, ESCs, and other required documentation. • Reading and interpreting plans, diagrams, and technical specifications. • Ensuring all work is performed safely, following site procedures, EWRB requirements, and WorkSafe guidelines. • Coordinating with other trades and providing clear updates to clients or supervisors. • Maintaining tools, equipment, and materials to a high standard.
