Candidates for roles within our Opotiki based packhouse are being sought to cover the handling of the 2026 Kiwifruit season.

Roles are expected to commence in early to min March with opportunities including:

-Packers - pack fruit at speed, handling with care so as to not damage the product

-Strapper - check, and strap pallets of fruit safely while maintaining supply

-Stacker - check, label and stack pallets of fruit in accordance with company guidelines

-Tray Prep - understand tray componentry and configuration, prepare trays as per industry standards

-Soft Sorter - Ensure all soft fruit and juice are removed from the belts, maintain a clear, clean working environment keeping visually aware of reject fruit

-Grading - ensure fruit is graded and sorted withdrawing non-export quality fruit prior to packing

We run two shifts Day shift 8am - 6pm, Night shift 7.30pm - 5am in a 7-day/week operation (6 on 1 off) and weekly hours 47.5 - 57hrs/week.

Job Requirements

-Attention to detail, able to stand on feet for long periods of time, maintain constant eye for non-compliant fruit, able to pass drug test where machine operation is a part of the role.

-Own reliable transport or ability to get to work reliably

-Previous experience not essential

-Criminal convictions may be considered on a case-by-case basis

-Pass screening question check prior to lodging Registration of Interest
