WHAT YOU WILL DO IN THIS ROLE: - Deliver safe, efficient resident are by prioritising & attending to daily needs (e.g., showering, dressing, grooming, mobility support, eating/feeding, assisting with medications where instructed, and toileting) in line with duty schedules & the Nursing Procedure Manual, including requesting assistance in difficult situations - Provide input and participate in the planning & delivery of resident care, taking into account individual needs & preferences - Comply with workplace policies & procedures (e.g., punctuality, time records, sick call procedure, professional appearance & conduct, smoking policy & house rules) - Support & uphold the organisation’s policies, mission and philosophies at all times - Carry out laundry, cleaning & kitchen support tasks as required, while maintaining good infection control principles - Maintain privacy & confidentiality of residents & facility business - Work effectively as part of a team, keeping records & reports current & informative, & remaining flexible & adaptable during busy periods - Communicate effectively with residents & staff, including appropriate upward reporting & maintaining positive working relationships with management - Follow sound hygiene principles, particularly in relation to hand hygiene - Participate in performance appraisals & complete legislated training/ongoing education as required - Champion & exemplify the organisation’s CARE values: Competence, Authenticity, Respect & Empathy
Resident transport* & escorting (as required) - From time to time, safely transport &/or escort residents to external appointments/events, ensuring timely arrival & return. Maintain a calm, reassuring presence, safeguard relevant documentation, follow transport protocols (including vehicle safety checks and infection control), & report any significant observations to the nursing/clinical team. *Healthcare Assistants undertaking driving duties must hold a current full driver’s licence & follow all facility transport protocols.
Job Requirements
Relevant NZQF Level 2, 3 or 4 qualification OR at least 1 year of relevant experience

- On a rotating roster including weekends (AM/PM/nocte/night shifts) (30 hours per week)
