Rugs Warehouse Storeman

Join a growing rug retail and warehouse business as a Warehouse Manager. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day warehouse operations, including stock control, logistics, and dispatch. While there is no team management initially, the role may expand to include supervising staff.

Key Responsibilities: - Oversee and manage daily warehouse operations: receiving, storage, and dispatch of goods - Inspect incoming and outgoing rugs for quality, accuracy, and any signs of damage - Maintain accurate stock levels and inventory records using internal systems - Coordinate all logistics: courier bookings, deliveries, container arrivals, and customer collections. - Supervise and train warehouse staff when required, ensuring high performance and adherence to procedures - Operate POS system for stock updates and sales support - Manage labelling, packaging, and preparation of rugs for dispatch or pickup - Ensure the warehouse remains clean, tidy, and compliant with health and safety standards - Support weekend and public holiday operations when required.

- Minimum 6 months experience in a rug store, warehouse, or textile-related environment - Full driver licence and able to drive vans - Strong understanding of rug materials, quality, and manufacturing types - Physically fit and able to lift up to 20 kilograms safely - Level 4 qualification (or overseas equivalent) in Management or Business Administration - Experience in managing/supervising a small team is advantageous - Competent with POS systems and basic computer operations - Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills. - Must be a New Zealand citizen/resident. - Flexible to work on monthly rostered shifts, including weekends.
