Class 4 or 5 Experienced Truck Driver

Class 4 or 5 Experienced Truck Driver required for a East Tamaki based employer delivering general stock from Business to Business.

Duties will include:

Carry out transportation of general freight including dangerous goods, bulk deliveries, and pickups from freight companies.

Deliver and pickup goods from the freight companies with an ability to load and unload the truck using lifting and tipping devices, if required.

Carry out daily pre-checks of the vehicle and report any faults immediately.

Report any problems, incidents, accidents or customer complaints immediately.

Secure the loads using load binders, chains and straps to prevent loss and damage of the goods.

Adhere to Land Transport Safety Authority rules and regulations and keep a logbook of the hours worked.

Keep records of, and check invoices for, goods you deliver/pickup.

Carry out any other duties as requested by the Managing Director.

Must have at least 1 year relevant industry based work experience and skilled in operating a road ranger gearbox

NZ Class 4 Driving Licence or Overseas Driving Licence with an ability to obtain NZ Class 4 Licence.

Knowledge of how to secure loads using load binders, chains and strops.

Must pass Drug and Alcohol Test.

Must pass Ministry of Justice or Police Check unless very minor and in the distant past.

Self-motivated and the ability to work to strict deadlines. Good communication skills and a can-do attitude. Good time management skills.
