Experienced Filing Tax Accountant Immediate start

Panmure based employer is looking for an experienced Filing Tax Accountant for an immediate start. Must have a minimum of two years’ accounting experience in a similar role within the New Zealand tax environment, along with advanced proficiency in Xero, MYOB, and the Microsoft Office Suite Responsibilities include: Compile and analyse accounting information provided by clients; prepare and file Annual Tax Returns and GST returns; reconcile payroll transactions, prepare payslips, and file PAYE returns with IRD. You will also carry out month-end accounting activities, prepare P&L forecasting and ad-hoc reports, perform business analysis, and support annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes.

Additional responsibilities include preparing, managing, and reviewing the general ledger; managing bank reconciliations, accounts receivable, and accounts payable; filing Companies Office annual returns; and reporting on debtors and creditors. The role involves dealing directly with IRD on all tax matters for clients, liaising with banks and other financial institutions, and ensuring all written and verbal communication is delivered professionally to internal and external stakeholders.

You will also provide general tax advice to clients as required.

-Must have a minimum of two years’ accounting experience in a similar role within the New Zealand tax environment, along with advanced proficiency in Xero, MYOB, and the Microsoft Office Suite. -Strong Excel skills and a bachelor’s degree in Accounting are essential. -The role requires the ability to liaise confidently with Inland Revenue, excellent communication skills with both clients and team members, and strong time-management abilities. -Candidates should be comfortable working with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds and be willing to go the extra mile. -Must be able to pass police check and drug test -Work related references required
