Truck Driver

A West Auckland employer is currently looking for an experienced Class 5 Truck Driver to join their team.

Key Responsibilities:

- Safely operate Class 5 heavy vehicles in line with the NZ Road Code, planning efficient routes based on schedules, road conditions, and weather. - Drive confidently across residential, commercial, and highway environments. - Manage freight, including loading/unloading, securing cargo, balancing weight, and using lifting equipment safely. - Complete daily vehicle checks, maintain logbooks, and report any faults, hazards, or incidents. - Adhere to all Health & Safety requirements. - Monitor vehicle condition, arrange repairs as needed, and maintain cleanliness with regular washing. - Deliver goods on schedule, verify documentation, obtain signatures, and ensure cargo is handled correctly. - Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers. - Work independently and as part of a team, follow instructions, use sound judgement, and maintain strong reliability and punctuality.

A clean Class 5 NZ driver’s licence, or a recognised overseas equivalent, is essential. Must have clean criminal history. Minimum 1 year of relevant industry experience operating heavy vehicles/trucks. Ability to work flexible hours, with availability 6–7 days per week, including weekends, early mornings, late evenings, and public holidays. Strong understanding of safe loading practices and heavy vehicle operation. Physically fit and able to carry out manual handling tasks. Must remain drug-free at all times, including passing pre-employment and random drug tests. Able to work safely, independently, and maintain a high level of professionalism.
