Truck Driver & Depot Hand

Canterbury/Timaru: Our local employer is looking for a physically fit and reliable Driver to join our team in Timaru.

This role involves delivering gas cylinders to residential and commercial customers, as well as transporting general freight between Timaru and Christchurch. The position is labour-intensive, requiring manual loading and unloading of heavy items such as gas bottles (up to 45kg) and ABC crates.

Duties include but are not limited to: Depot work such as: • lifting • Stacking and wrapping bottles, • Collecting empties from local businesses across Timaru and as far as Oamaru.

Days and hours: • Monday - Friday with occasional Saturday work. Average 7am - 5:30pm • This role offers 40 hours per week.

Pay Rate: $27.50 per hour.

You must have the below prerequisites to be considered for this role: • Must be physically strong and fit. • Must have a Full Class 2 License. • Must have forklift OSH & experience. F endorsement is preferred but not necessary. • Dangerous Goods (D) endorsement is preferred but not necessary. • Must pass pre-employment drug test. • Must pass MOJ/convictions check. • Must be willing to work extra hours when job requires.
